Wolf’s Challenge Cup set to conclude Sunday with grand finale

The Wolf’s Challenge Cup softball tournament, sponsored by Imran Hussain of Wolf’s Furniture Store, Leonora, will continue Sunday with several matches at various grounds.

On Sunday at the DCC Ground, Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown, from 9am, will be the ladies semi-finals between Trophy Stall Angels and Blue Divas on Pitch 1 and 4R Lioness against Mike’s Wellwoman on pitch 2.

The matches will be played simultaneously. At 11:30am the Masters final will take place between Mike’s Wellman and Regal Masters.

The T/20 affair will see the winning team walking off with the Wolf’s Challenge Cup (Masters) and $100,000 while the losing finalist will receive a trophy and $25,000.

The man of the match in the final will receive $5,000 and a trophy while the player of the tournament in the Master category will also receive a trophy with $5,000.

At 2:45 pm, will be the female finals between the winning semi-finalists.

The winning female team will receive a trophy and $50,000 while the runners-up will receive a trophy and $25,000.

The MVP of the final and player of the series will take home a trophy and $5,000 each.

At 4:30 pm will be the Open male final between Speed Boat and Regal with the winning team set to receive the Wolf’s Challenge Cup Trophy and $100,000. The losing finalist will earn a trophy and $25,000.

The MVP of the final and player of the series will also receive a trophy and $5,000 each. The presentation ceremony is set for 8pm.

This competition, started in March earlier this year, but was hindered by the long wet season is being held in memory of the late Emam Hussain who died on the 10th of May 1995.
