Sunidhi Chauhan wowed second time around

Hundreds of persons flocked the Guyana National Stadium two Sundays ago to experience the talent of Bollywood playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan the second time around and she did not disappoint.

Although there were heavy downpours during the evening, this didn’t stop the excitement. It seemed fans enjoyed themselves even more.

As Sunidhi appeared onstage in a close-fitting gold dress, it seemed she was aglitter. During her three-hour performance, she took a wardrobe change during a short recession, returning in black pants and gold top.

For the entire time she was on stage, the hundreds who were gathered danced, swayed, waved and even crooned the lyrics of her songs with her.

She was backed by a 16-member band which included singers, musicians and technical personnel along with her colleague singer Rakesh Maini.

The concert was coordinated by the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha in collaboration with Zee TV as a fundraiser for the construction of the new Dharmic Rama Krishna Secondary School and expanded primary school at Pattensen, East Coast Demerara and towards the operational costs of Bal Nivas, the Sabha’s Shelter in Ankerville, Berbice for children who are victims of abuse.

Sunidhi Chauhan is a world renowned singer who has had numerous blockbuster hits during her career. Popular for her songs like “Desi Girl,” “Ishq Sufiyana,” “Dhoom Machale,” “Aaja Nachle,” “Sheila Ki Jawani,” “Kamli,” “Dilli Wali Girlfriend,” “Kachi Kaliyan,” “Thaare Vaaste,” “Aayo Re” and numerous others, Sunidhi has also been nominated for and won several awards including the prestigious Indian International Film, Zee Cine, Filmfare, Global Indian Music, Star Screen and Mirchi.

She has a number of international collaborations to her credit including the huge hit “Heartbeat” with Enrique Iglesias. She previously performed in Guyana in 1994.

One fan requested that the coordinator consider bringing Sunidhi Chauhan back to Guyana for another such concert. Another individual said while she wanted her to perform longer she enjoyed every piece that was sang. She also expressed her satisfaction about the amount of energy in the performance something which she said encouraged the audience.
