The Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Cub (GMR&SC) will kick the season into high gear on March 5 with its first official drag meet but prior to that, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on February 9.
The AGM which will coincide with the election of office bearers is scheduled to take place at the club’s headquarters on Thomas Lands.
Following the drag meet, the first circuit event will be held at the South Dakota Circuit on April 2.
The calendar of events continue when the nation’s premier daredevils will take their talents to Jamwest Raceway in Jamaica’s on May 21 for the first of the four legs of the annual Caribbean Motor Racing Championships (CMRC).
On July 2 at South Dakota, there will be the hosting of the second circuit race of the season followed by the second stage of the CMRC in Trinidad on July 30 at the Frankie Boodram International Raceway.
The first international drag race takes one week later on August 6 while the Guyana Festival of Speed, Dakota 100 will take place on August 20.
The penultimate leg of the CMRC takes centre stage on September 3 while drag racing action continues on October 1.
The curtain will then close on the season with the final leg of the CMRC on November 12.
