Suspect in Crane robbery picked out in ID parade

One of the men arrested after the robbery of a Crane, West Coast Demerara family was positively identified yesterday during an identification parade.

Hanson Forde, 24, and his mother Dawn Martin, 40, his girlfriend, his uncle and his two-year-old cousin were sitting in their living room on Tuesday night when three men invaded the house and held them at gunpoint.

After ten minutes of demanding cash and gold from the family, the men were given gold jewellery, valued over $1M, $60,000 and four cellular phones, and they then made their escape on foot. However, it wasn’t long after that the police caught two 19-year-old suspects, who were placed on an identification parade yesterday.

According to Forde, he went along with his mother to the police station where they took part in the identification parade where eight men were lined up. However, out of the eight men, they were able to positively identify one of them as one of the bandits who attacked them.
