‘Yes’ to parking meters and contract re-negotiation

Dear Editor,

Is Georgetown living in (Alice in) Wonderland?

The parking meter imbroglio raises two simple questions:

  1. a) Should the madness that is central GT traffic continue or be regulated as in almost every other city in the world? The answer to that has to be a firm yes.
  2. b) Should the existing contract be re-visited and re-negotiated? The answer to that has to be a firm yes.

No need to be a Cultural Advisor (whatever that is) to work out that simple dichotomy.

Yours faithfully,

John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
