Bandits grab $1M from Mings Products courier

Bandits on Thursday afternoon carted off approximately $1 million from an employee of Mings Products and Services Ltd as he was proceeding to make a deposit at a local bank.

Stanley Ming, the proprietor of the business, told Stabroek News that the robbery occurred around 2pm in the vicinity of Harris Paints on Water Street.

He explained that as the employee, Ivan Carter, was making his way to the bank, a vehicle pulled up next to him and three men armed with guns attacked. The men approached Carter and demanded he hand over the bag containing the cash and cheques. Carter complied and the men made good their escape.

Ming told Stabroek News that they had told employees to never resist in such cases.

Carter afterward reported the robbery to the police. Up to yesterday, no arrest had been made as yet. Bandits grab $1M from Mings Products courier
