Dear Editor,
I recently received my invoice from Guyana Power and Light Inc for a period beginning in the middle of January and ending in the middle of February. The new VAT on electricity was to take effect from the first day of February, but the power company has applied VAT on the total bill. I will therefore be forced to pay VAT on my January consumption or face disconnection.
