Last Friday, over 420 persons, including 200 schoolchildren benefited from free health care services at the Health and Wellness Fair hosted by Massy Distribution Inc. at its Montrose and Land of Plenty locations.
According to a press release from Massy Distribution (Guyana) Inc., the free services included skin care consultations, dental and eye care examinations and referrals, blood pressure and blood sugar testing, as well as information on sexual and reproductive health. Adults present also had the opportunity to donate blood to the National Blood Transfusion Services (NBTS) if they so desired.
For the New Amsterdam location, the release stated, a 3K Fitness Walk across the Canje Bridge was held on Sunday, April 23, 2017. The event was held in collaboration with The Cheddi Jagan Dental Centre, the Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association, NBTS and Optique Vision Care, among others.
The release added that Massy Distribution Inc is also one of several companies that was recently awarded by the National Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH), for ensuring its employees are working in an environment free of hazards and risks.
