Graham tops police promotion list

– Prem Narine makes Inspector

The highest ranked policewoman in the Guyana Police Force Maxine Graham has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner.

This announcement was made by the Force last evening when it released its promotions list.

Graham who is now the lone woman Assistant Commissioner in the Force, is in charge of transfers, placements and welfare of ranks.

The Force in a press release said that in addition to Graham, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has promoted Deputy Superintendents, Frank Harvey and Mahendra Siwnarine to the rank of Superintendent. Assistant Superintendent Patrick Todd, Himnauth Sawh and John Barker have been promoted to Deputy Superintendent. The PSC also promoted ranks to Assistant Superintendent and Inspector.

Corporal Prem Narine who was last month named Top Performer in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the overall Best Cop for 2016 has been promoted to the rank of Inspector.

The Commissioner of Police, the release said, has also approved promotions from the rank of Corporal to Sergeant, Lance Corporal and Constable to Corporal, and Constable to Lance Corporal.

All promotions take effect from today, the release said.
