A father who yesterday confessed to striking his son in the head that later resulted in the son’s death, is cooperating fully with investigators, the police say.
Investigation, police say, revealed that on Thursday at about 0730h. Azeez Khan, 18 years, a labourer of Lot 8 Better Hope, ECD and his 40 year old father who resides at the said address, had an altercation during which he was allegedly struck to the head with a piece of wood.
The victim was taken to the GPHC where he died the following day. Police were informed that the son fell off a ladder, at his place of work, which was later proven otherwise.
A post-mortern examination was done yesterday and the cause of death was given as haemorrhage due to blunt trauma to the head.
