A 20-month-old infant was crushed to death by a truck driven by his father at their home at Mahaica, on the East Coast of Demerara.
Dead is Adan Kiritpaul.
According to a statement issued by the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the infant’s father was slowly navigating the truck out of their yard when he looked out of his rear view mirror and saw something between his wheels. This prompted the father to stop and after disembarking he discovered his son lying motionless and his head completely crushed.
The police were summoned and the child’s body was taken to the Mahaicony Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor. According to the police, a post-mortem examination will be conducted shorty and the father is in custody assisting with investigations.
