Major road works have been cleared for the Essequibo Coast in Region Two and Mahaicony in Region Five.
According to the Ministry of the Presidency, Cabinet at its August 22nd meeting took note of the awards by the national procurement board and the procuring entities.
For the Mahaicony Branch Road, Bardon Construction Services has secured a $52.6m contract. For the High Dam Side-line, Mahaicony the $22m contract was clinched by Chung’s Global Enterprise.
Chung’s Global Enterprise also secured a $40.1m contract for the Sand Pit Road, Onderneeming, Essequibo Coast. Mohammad Fawaaz Bacchus won a $39.8m contract for the Lima Sands Access Road, Essequibo Coast while Mohamed Ramzanalli Khan nailed down the $20.4m contract for Curry Road, Perseverance, Essequibo Coast.
In Region Ten, KP Thomas and Sons Contracting Incorporated has won a $31.4m contract for rehabilitation of the Soesdyke-Linden High-way. B and J Civil Works sealed an $8.1m contract for the Mon Repos Access Road.
In Region Five, a $17.5m contract for School Street and First Street, west of School Street, El Dorado went to SYMS General Contractors Incor-porated. The contract for Washington Sideline Dam in Region Five will be undertaken by Shereaz Bacchus General Contractor at a price of $12.6m while in the same region, KP Thomas and Sons Incorporated secured the Secondary School Street, Bush Lot contract at a price of $18.5m.
