Contract of $3.5b cleared for Mazaruni prison works

Cabinet has granted its no objection to a $3.5 billion contract for the construction of the Mazaruni Prison.

The contract has been awarded to Kee-Chanona Limited of Trinidad and Tobago which will execute the $3,562,081,575 contract in a joint venture with NABI Construction Incorporated.

It is one of 32 contracts whose award was noted by Cabinet at its Sub-Committee meeting on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

The Ministry of Public Security through the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) has also awarded US$261,915 to Environmental and Property Management Services for the supply, installation and testing of modification parts for the Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System at the Guyana Forensic Science Laboratory.

Other contracts noted include more than three contracts totaling over  $96 million for the supply of Information Technology equipment to the Ministry of Public Health.

NT Computeac has been awarded $10,547.288, Massy Technologies Guyana Limited has been awarded $53,582,097.00 and SPECOM Guyana Incorporated has been awarded $33,368,741.
