Golden Blue Echo wins feature event at Guyana Cup Fever

Golden Blue Echo held off a late charge from favorite Spit Fire to win the feature C2 and lower, 1900m event of the Guyana Cup Fever and the $1M bounty by a neck yesterday at the overflowing Port Mourant Turf Club.

Starting at as a slight underdog to Spit Fire, the steed from the Nand Persaud Stables took command at around the halfway point by passing early race leader Princess She Is Not.

With jockey, Julius Persaud in the saddle, Golden Blue Echo staved off fast-finishing Spit Fire of the Shariff Racing Stables, with Goodwill Boy a close third.

Just Call Me Boss placed fourth two lengths back.
