The annual Banks DIH Limited Inter-Department dominoes competition will commence today at the Thirst Park Sports Club with three matches from 17:00hrs.
The event, which will be contested under the XM Rum brand and features 21 teams, will be divided into three rounds. The opening round will pit Trisco Females against Wholesale Liquor and Vehicle Work Shop.
In the second matchup of the section, Central Service, Security Department and Distribution/Warehouse will faceoff while the final fixture of the round will be Trisco, Water Plant and Banks Females.
Action in the event will continue tomorrow with a solitary fixture involving Head Office, Soft Drink Plant and Maintenance Workshop. On Saturday, the final night of round one, three matches will be contested.
Essequibo Branch, Free Sellers and Berbice Branch will face-off in the first showdown, while Bartica Branch, Sales Department and Rum Factory will match skills in the second encounter. The third contest will involve Brewery, Linden Branch and Building Department.
The draw for the second round of matches will also be staged on Saturday following the conclusion of the contests. The eventual top three finishers in the tournament will receive trophies and medals.
