GYO, GCC record wins

Transport Sports Club (TSC) and  and Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC)  played to a draw in the Well Teen, Trophy Stall, Tropical Springs & Nauth Motor Spares Under – 13 cricket tournament at the  Gandhi Youth Organisation Ground (GYO) over the weekend.

TSC won the toss and inserted RHTY&SC who made 132-6 from their 25 overs.  Mahendra Gopilall top scored with 35, while Vishal Naidu contributed 19.

Bowling for TSC, Jonathan Adams and Riyad Latif took 2-19 and 2-27 respectively.

TSC in their turn at the crease made 132-9 from their 25 overs to tie the game.

Alvin Mohabir (30) and Shamar Yearwood (25) were the main contributors for TSC while Mahendra Gopilall (2-35) was the main wicket-taker for RHTY&SC.

Alvin Mohabir was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.

Meanwhile, Gandhi Youth Organ-isation also defeated RHTY&SC by 17 runs at the same venue. GYO batted first and scored 79 for 7 from their 15 overs. Mavindra Dindyal top scored with 23.

RHTY&SCs bowling was led by Mathew Patoya (3-9) and Jonathan Rampersaud (3-15)

RHTY&SC in reply were bowled out for 62 in 12.3 overs with Jeremy Sandia scoring 11. Danesh Persaud (3-17) and Dishan Ramnarine (2-12) did the damage for GYO while Mathew Patoya was named Man-of-the-Match.

Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) defeated Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) by four wickets. DCC batted first and mustered 122-8 from 25 overs. Shemar Bookie (16) and Jonathan Vandall (14) were the major contributors for DCC while Ravaldo Phillips grabbed 2-19 for GCC. GCC in their response reached 125-6 in 23 overs with Rahaul Singh top scored with 34. Jaffar Pinder took 3-26 for DCC. The Man-of-the-Match award went to Rahaul Singh.

The final match of the evening saw GYO defeating Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) by 91 runs. GYO Batted first and scored 170-8 from 25 overs. Mavindra Dindyal’s 29 was the main the contribution. E. Wills 3-22 and N. Permaul 2-27 were the chief wicket takers for MSC who were dismissed for 79 in the 16th over. Chad Shivrattan scored 20 while D. Ramnarine 3-5 destroyed MSC and copped the Man-of-the-Match award.
