Venue for RAN 15’s Championship still undecided

Guyana is scheduled to tackle USA South for the 2017 Rugby America’s North (RAN) 15’s championship on July 29 at a home venue to be announced.

This is according to Terrence Grant, the Liaison Officer for Match Officials.

Said Grant, “Depending on the weather, the venue could be National Park or the St Stanislaus College Ground, but the game will be played in Guyana.”

He added “The Local Organizing Committee will be meeting again on Monday for further discussions.”

The training sessions of the national team are currently being conducted at the St. Stanislaus College Ground.

The national team which defeated Barbados and Trinidad en route to clinching the Southern Zone title, finished with 10 tournament points, but have a higher seeding than USA South, and therefore will to host the final.

Guyana was ranked number two by RAN after losing in the final to Mexico last year. USA South was unranked as they did not participate in the annual tourney last year.
