Den Amstel crushes Jetty Gunners 15-0

League leaders Den Amstel recorded the largest margin of victory in the West Demerara zone of the National Milling Company (NAMILCO) U17 football League, crushing Jetty Gunners 15-0 yesterday.

The contest was effectively over at the halftime interval at the Den Amstel ground as the home side stormed to a commanding 7-0 lead.

Murtland Peters commenced the rout with a second minute strike before Anthony Benn bagged a double in the fifth and 10th minute. Scorer of four goals, Keswyn Fraser started his tally with a 20th minute strike.

That goal was quickly followed by an own goal in the 25th minute to make it 5-0. Mark Powell got into the scoring act with a 34th minute conversion while Rueben Dainty completed the first halt blitz two minutes later.

Upon resumption, Fraser made his presence felt once more tallying three goals in the space of five minutes to complete his individual haul. Fraser netted in the 48th, 51st and 53rd minute.

Malcolm Miggins added his name to the scorer’s sheet in the 60th minute, before Dainty sealed his hat-trick with goals in the 65th and 70th minute.

The result was eventually completed as Tadius Edwards and Joshua Fraser scored in the 75th and 80th minute respectively. Meanwhile, Uitvlugt defeated Golden Warriors via walkover.

The event will resume on Friday at the same venue. At 9:00am, Crane Rovers will oppose Jetty Gunners, while Golden Warriors will battle Wales at 11:00am.

In the third fixture, Den Amstel will engage Uitvlugt at 1:00pm, while the final fixture will pit Eagles against Pouderoyen at 3:00pm. The event will also continue on Sunday September 3rd.

At 9:00am, Den Amstel will lock horns with Golden Warriors, while Eagles will match skills with Jetty Gunners at 11:00am.
