Judgement Yard, Bad-A-Yard among teams sealing group berths

Judgement Yard, Bad-a-Yard, Trap House, Gaza Squad, East Front Road and California Square were among the teams to seal their group berths to the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown Championship, following playoff matches yesterday and Friday respectively.

Judgement Yard downed Globe Yard 1-0 yesterday at the East Ruimveldt Community Center while Bad-a-Yard crushed Timers 2-0.

Also, Gaza Squad swamped Island All-Stars 1-0. On Friday at the same venue, Trap House crushed Perfect-U-Ballers 3-0, while California Square edged Bel-Air 1-0 and East Front Road overcame Shirley Field Ballers 3-2 on sudden death penalty kicks, after normal time ended scoreless.

The two day playoff round featured more than 70 teams, battling for 16 positions. The other teams that emerged from the playoff tournament were Future Stars, Upsetters, New Market Street, Ol Skool Ballers, Smythe Street, Stabroek Ballers, Rising Stars, Norton Street, Kingston, Sophia Bullies and GTI Ballers.

The automatic qualifiers are Sparta Boss, Gold is Money, Back Circle, Channel-9 Warriors, Leopold, Bent Street, Tucville, North Ruimveldt, Queen Street Tiger Bay, Albouystown-B, Albouystown-A, Festival City, North East La Penitence,Alexander Village and Broad Street.
