The koker door at Maria’s Pleasure on Wakenaam broke yesterday leading to flooding, according to a release from the police. The structure on the Essequibo River island gave away during the morning’s high tide. Around 14 households were affected. The koker was last repaired in April 2018. Workers from the Sea Defence Unit and Region Three conducted repairs yesterday. This photo shows repairs being done.
