The Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown wishes to thank all those property owners who have honoured their civic obligation in 2018. Indeed, their commitment has enabled the municipality to provide critical services to a level to the citizens of Georgetown.
All property owners should be reminded that payment of general rates can be made in four installments; February 1, April 1, July 1, and October1. Citizens are advised to take along their receipts collected on payments of the previous year. Cheques should be made payable to the ‘Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown’ or ‘Mayor and City Council’ and crossed Account Payee Only. Citizens must be aware that rate payers who make payment during the first quarter are exempted from paying interest.
Currently, the Council’s Finance Chairman -Mr. Oscar Clarke is meeting with Departmental and sectional heads to finalize the budgetary estimates for the year 2019.
