Unidentified body discovered at Crabwood Creek

An unidentified body was discovered yesterday afternoon at a koker at Crabwood Creek, Upper Corentyne, Berbice.

Sunday Stabroek was told that residents spotted the body floating in the water around 3 pm, after which the police were alerted.

The body was eventually pulled from the water sometime around 4.15 pm. An initial examination did not uncover any visible marks of violence.

This publication was told that clothing and a hat, suspected to have been the belongings of the deceased, were discovered next to the koker door.

The body is presently at the Bailey’s Funeral home, West Coast Berbice, awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.
