The Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and the Transport Sports Club (TSC) yesterday faced each other under lights in the Guyana Diabetic Association/ Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) U17 T/20 final after they both notched up contrasting semifinal wins on Thursday evening at the DCC ground, Queenstown.

DCC defeated Malteenoes by 95 runs under lights at home. Batting first DCC compiled 153 – 5 with significant contributions from opener Tameshwar Permaul who cracked 45 (two fours and four maximums) and Brandon Jaikarran who made 30. The two shared in a 79-run, opening stand.

Skipper Sachin Singh (30) and Garrick Persaud (24) all played cameos down at the bottom of innings.

Wayne Bollers (1-18), Mervin Permaul (1-20) and Chad Shivertan (1-26) picked up a wicket each for the visitors who were shot out for 58 in 14 overs.

Meanwhile, TSC squeezed past Everest by 11 runs at the same venue.

TSC batted first and posted 135 – 7 from their allotted overs with Davenand Khemraj scoring an unbeaten 68 with nine fours and one six.

Everest’s Mohamed Jameer grabbed 3 for 16 for his side who were restricted to 124-6.
