National all-rounder Christopher Barnwell will lead a strong Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) line-up against Blairmont Blazers tomorrow night at the DCC ground, Queenstown.
The match, sponsored by Trophy Stall of the Bourda Market, Citi Mall and South Road, Rohan Auto Spares of Mahaica and Number 64 Village, Corentyne, Motor Trend of Enmore and Steve’s Jewellery of Church Street, will feature a number of cricketers who have represented Guyana and the West Indies.
The action will get underway at 7pm and admission is free.
Blairmont Blazers have already announced their squad which will be led by Shabeer Baksh and will include rising star Alex Algoo.
The team will come from Shabeer Baksh, (Captain) Kevon Jawahir, Zameer Inshan, Martin Singh, Keon DeJesus, Javed Karim, Parmanand Ramdhan, Derrick McCalmon, Avishkar Sewkarran, Suresh Dhanai, Kassim Khan, Artley Bailey, Alex Algoo and Wakar Hassan.
The DCC squad is as follows. Barnwell, (Captain) Raymond Perez, Sherfane Rutherford, Tevin Imlach, Ashmead Nedd, Steven Sankar, Nkosie Beaton, Carlton Jacques, Jaron Byron, Joshua Persaud, Sagar Hatirimani, Alphius Bookie, Qumar Torrington, Samuel Quallis, and Tameshwar Permaul.
The following Friday, a Suriname Select X1 will play Floodlights X1 in a 20/20 cricket match starting 7 pm.
