Defending champion Sparta Boss will oppose Bent Street today in the final of the Petra Organization/Corona Futsal Championship at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
The match, which kickoffs from 23:00hrs, will be the third meeting of the teams and a rematch of the event’s inaugural final, which was won 8-6 by the present challenger
. Bent Street has a perfect 2-0 record against the Sparta Boss and will start the match as the clear favourite.
The previous meeting of the teams ended 3-2 on penalty kicks in favor of Bent Street, after regulation and extra time ended 2-2.
Winner of the tournament will pocket $600,000 and the championship trophy. On the other hand, the loser will receive $300,000 and the respective accolade.
On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) receives a motorcycle compliments of Hero Honda Motorcycle Brand.
Meanwhile, the third place playoff will pit Leopold Street against newcomer Alpha Warriors against 22:00hrs. The victor pockets $150,000 and a trophy, while the loser collects $75,000 and a trophy.
The other sponsor of the competition is the National Milling Company (NAMILCO).
