Cummings Lodge defeats N/Georgetown in tapeball final

Cummings Lodge Secondary School romped to a 10-wicket win over North Georgetown Secondary School (NGSS) to win the Dexter Cush/Johil Store Schoolboys tapeball knockout competition Saturday at D’urban Park.

Batting first, NGSS reached 70-3 from six overs with Demerara Cricket Club’s Nkosi Beaton, the top scorer with 34.

In reply, the Cummings Lodge’s opening pair knocked off the target with an over to spare.

Keshore Seepersaud smashed 40 while his partner, Deoram Narine scored 16.

Beaton and Seepersaud were named the best players, receiving medals for their efforts from Johil Store representatives and businessman, Cush.

Other teams in the competition included Raiz Business Institute, Sophia Special School, Trust College and St. John’s College.
