Rutherford, Reifer, Hemraj boost for Jaguars

Ahead of the Cricket West Indies Regional Four-Day third round, the four-time defending champions, the Guyana Jaguars, have made three changes to the side.

According to the Guyana Cricket Board, three West Indies players are returning including all-rounders Sherfane Rutherford, who made his international debut for the Caribbean side in the T20 format, Barbados-born Raymon Reifer and top order batsman, Chandrapaul Hemraj.

Meanwhile, Keemo Paul suffered a finger injury during the last T20 against Bangladesh while Shimron Hetmyer has asked to be rested. Devindra Bishoo was not available for selection at the time of the naming of the 13-man squad.

Missing out are wicketkeeper/batsman Tevin Imlach who debuted in the first round of the tournament, Akshaya Persaud and opener, Trevon Griffith.

The squad will be led by Esaun Crandon as coach with the services of Rayon Griffith as assistant coach/manager and Leon Johnson as captain.

The four-time consecutive champions are currently at the top of the table after beating Windward Island Volcanoes and Leeward Island Hurricanes in rounds one and two respectively, and will now face Barbados Pride at the Kensington Oval, Barbados from January 4.
