Cops seeking advice on murder of toshao

The police are currently seeking legal advice in connection with the murder of Toshao Solomon Lewis who was beheaded last Tuesday after intervening in a domestic dispute involving his daughter, Divisional Commander Kevin Adonis says.

Adonis, when contacted for an update on the matter yesterday told Stabroek News that the investigation into the matter has since been completed and the case file was dispatched for legal advice which will determine the way forward in the matter.

In the meantime, he said the police were granted an extension to further detain the suspect; Lewis’s son-in-law.

The suspect who had fled the scene following the incident in a boat was apprehended the following day.

Lewis was  chopped on New Year’s Day after he was attacked when he intervened in the domestic dispute.

His son, Marvin Lewis, 27, also had one of his hands severed during the ordeal.
