‘Breach of constitutional duty’

Arguing that the allocation of lands at ‘Pradoville 2’ was an act of fraud and in breach of the constitution, the State Assets Recovery Agency (SARA) is asking the High Court to strip former President Bharrat Jagdeo and six other persons of the ownership of the plots sold to them in 2010.

Pawnshop worker fined for abusing cop, having weapon

A young saleswoman was fined a total of $40,000 on Monday after pleading guilty to charges of using abusive language towards a policeman and possession of a weapon, while she was granted her release on a total of $150,000 bail after denying seven other charges, including assaulting three ranks.

Dinanauth cops Trophy Stall golf title

When the dust settled following the completion of the Trophy Stall annual golf tournament Saturday at the Lusignan Golf Club, Kevin Dinanauth was crowned champion of the A flight while Patanjalee Persaud and Clifford Reis won the B and C flights respectively.

Jadon Campbell (81) and Zachary Jodah (53 not out and 3-23) were instrumental to Demerara’s victory over President’s XI.

Convincing wins for arch rivals
