Wins for Botofago, N/A United as KFC U20 c/ships commemce

Upper Demerara champion Botofago and Berbice winner New Amstedam [NA] United secured wins, while Bartica champion Potaro Strikers and East Bank Demerara winner Timehri suffered losses, when the KFC Independence Knockout Club National Championship commenced Saturday.

Staged at the National Training Centre, Providence, Botofago downed Den Amstel 4-1. Andrew Mayers, Morgan Duke, Kelroy Anthony and Shane Haynes scored in the 45th, 57th, 64th and 90th+2 minute respectively.

For the loser, Anthony Benn scored in the 42nd minute. On the other hand, Berbice champion New Amsterdam [NA] United downed Amelia’s Ward Panthers 1-0. Keon WIlliams scored in the 47th minute.

 Meanwhile, Soesdyke defeated East Bank Demerara champion Timehri Panthers 4-1. Tyrone Khan, Tyrone Burnett, Shoran James and Shawn Samnauth netted in the 14th, 47th, 66th and 70th minute respectively.

Also, Dynamic FC mauled Bartica champion Potaro Strikers 5-0. John Gonsalves bagged a double in the 22nd and 83rd minute, with Julius Hamilton, Dequan Douglas and Linden Bowman scoring in the 36th, 72nd and 89th minute each.

 The event continued yesterday at the same venue with another round of elimination matches.
