Contracts for Parika stelling repair, Rivers Town bridge cleared

Cabinet has taken note of the award of several multi-million dollar contracts under the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, including one for repair works to the Parika Ferry Stelling.

This was revealed by Director-General of the Ministry of the Presidency during a post-Cabinet press briefing last Friday.

According to Harmon, a $52.01 million contract was awarded to Memorex Enterprise for the rehabilitation of the stelling.

For the reconstruction of Rivers Town’s 100-ft Acrow Panel Bridge, at Essequibo Coast, a $92.2 million contract was awarded to H. Nauth & Sons.

For the supply and installation of 400 integrated standalone solar powered 80w LED lights in all 10 administrative regions, several contracts were awarded.

For Lots 1, 7 and 10 (which covers Region No.1 – White Water Village, Maburama Sub-District, Wauna Village; Region 7 – Karrau Village; and Region 10 – Ituni and Kwakwani), Ramoutar & Sons Contracting Services was awarded a $43.9 million contract.

N. Balgobin & Sons Contracting Service & Electrical Supplies was awarded a $5.9 million contract to install the lights at Paramakatoi Village and Mahdia Central, while Tels Engineering Services was awarded a $6.15 million contract for a similar installation at Aishalton Village, Moco Moco Village, and Annai Central. 

Meanwhile, under the Ministry of Public Security, Marvelfairs Limited has won a US$81,447.40 contract for the procurement of traffic equipment for the Guyana Police Force. Additionally, under the Ministry of Agriculture, M. Sukhai Contracting Services was awarded a $19.3 million contract for the empoldering of Farmlands in Kaibouri Creek, Pomeroon.
