A vendor who police say they found with 35 grammes of cannabis in his stall, was on Friday remanded to prison on a charge of possession for trafficking.

Keith Abel, 38, was charged before Magistrate Faith McGusty in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court five.

The charge alleges that on June 26, at Water Street, Georgetown, Abel had 35 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking in his possession.

Prosecutor Seon Blackman objected to bail being granted, after Abel denied the allegation.

Blackman stated that no special reason was given by Abel as to why he should be granted his pre-trial liberty. In addition to that, Blackman stated that Abel also gave different addresses to the police and the court.

As a result, Abel was remanded to prison and told to make his next court appearance on July 19.
