Dear Editor,
I read in the press that the Opposition Leader, Bharrat Jagdeo has signaled to President David Granger that he is open to him suggesting names for the Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM). This is a positive step and provides a speck of hope that some consensus can be arrived at relative to the GECOM Chairman; and points to a solution that is acceptable to the Government and the Opposition.
At some point it has to be more about Guyana and the people of the country and less about the PNC and PPP.
Congratulations, Mr. Jagdeo, I am proud of you!
