Business School looks for first win

The Business School (TBS) will have to wait a bit longer for their first win in the Sir Garfield Sobers Schools Cricket Tournament in Barbados after crashing to three successive losses.

TBS crashed to an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of St. Catherine’s Juniors and followed up with a loss by the same margin to Dominica Combined Schools while 360 Cricket Academy registered a seven-wicket win over the Guyanese team in the matches played so far.

Against Dominica Combined, TBS posted 119 in 31 overs. Wayne McPherson top scored with 26, with two boundaries while Ariel Tilku supported with 23. Andsuegga Rodriguez was the only other batsman to reach double figures with 11. Neo Davis snapped up 4-28.

In reply, S. Pascal steered his team over the line with a patient 56 not out with other useful contributions coming from Mahkai Xavier (33) and M. Joseph (10) as they cruised to 120-2.

In their most recent match, TBS made 141 in 37.2 overs with Akeem Critchlow top-scoring with 55 while Tatesh Shivrattan chipped in with 41. Hugh Sheriff took 3-18 and was supported by Jed Collins (2-17), Tyler Small (2-17) and Anay Baruah (2-22).

The chase saw 360 Cricket Academy reaching 142-3 in 29.1 overs. Lachlan Shaw made 41 as Ben Jones (37 not out) and Sheriff (18 not out) steered them to victory. Shivrattan returned with the ball to claim 2-30.
