The Burnham Court on Carmichael and Middle Streets will come alive tonight when the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown Championship resumes with the second elimination round.

Rising Stars will do battle with Good-Over-Evil at 19:00hrs in the opening match, with Ol-Stool Ballers tackling Sophia-A at 19:30hrs and Albouystown-B opposing Berlin from 20:00hrs.

In the fourth fixture, Kingston will match skills with Broad Street from 20:30hrs, while Bent Street engage Charlotte Street at 21:00hrs and Future Stars face-off with Sophia United from 21:30hrs.

The final two matches of the night will pit Leopold Street against Pike Street from 22:00hrs and Queens Street Tiger Bay against Smythe Street at 22:30hrs.  

According to a release from the tournament coordinator Three Peat Promotions, “We envision another competitive and thrilling night of action that is certainly expected to entertain the large crowds that will always swarm to the venue.”

The release further said, “The tournament is in its 10th year and many giveaways will occur to the loyal fans and communities that have played their part in making this tournament a phenomenon.”

The event will last for seven days, with the first two two match-days pegged for elimination fixtures. The respective winners will advance to the group stage.

The other playing dates are July 19th, 20th, 26th, 27th and August 3rd.

The group stage will last for three nights, with the top two finishers from each pool progressing to the quarterfinal and subsequent semi-final round.

The eight teams that fail to advance from the group round will contest the Guinness Plate Championship. 

The overall winner will earn an automatic berth in the National Championship in August.

To date Beacons [Bartica Champion], Melanie-B [East Coast Demerara winner], Brothers United [West Demerara/East Bank Demerara winner], Trafalgar [Berbice champion] and High Rollers [Linden champion] are the teams to have secured automatic berths to the national championship.
