Aishalton man stabbed by relative

A 24-year-old Aishalton resident is currently in a stable condition after he was stabbed with a knife by a relative at a farmhouse.

According to information gathered, Delon Alfred of Aishalton Village, Region Nine, was stabbed twice with a knife by a relative, while he lay in his hammock at a farmhouse about nine miles from the village.

The incident was said to have occurred during the wee hours of Sunday morning. Both the victim and the suspect were reportedly under the influence of alcohol.

When approached by this newspaper, a relative of Alfred related that he was uncertain about the circumstances under which his brother was stabbed but confirmed that his brother was stabbed by a relative. He disclosed that his brother in currently in a stable condition after undergoing surgery last night at a hospital in Brazil.

The suspect is currently in police custody and was transported yesterday morning to the Lethem Police Station.
