Trinidad fisherman found dead, six others still missing

(Trinidad Guardian) A search party has found the body of one of the seven missing fishermen from Orange Valley.

Guardian Media understands the body of Anand Rampersad, 39 was found around 8.30am today floating in the Gulf of Paria.

His body was brought to shore and police and relatives are currently at the Orange Valley Fishing Depot awaiting the arrival of a District Medical Officer.

Rampersad was one of seven men lost at sea after a violent attack by bandits on Monday.

The father of three was reportedly stabbed twice in the attack and forced to jump overboard his pirogue by the bandits.

Still missing are Leslie Deboula, Shiva Ramdeo, Brandon Kissoon, Justin Kissoon, Trevor Baptiste and Alex.
