A Stabroek Market vendor was granted bail on a ganja trafficking charge after pleading not guilty yesterday.

Tito Bowen, 39, of Lot 3082 North Ruimveldt, denied the charge that on August 2nd, at Broad and Lombard streets, Georgetown, he had 18 grammes of marijuana in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Attorney Christopher Thompson represented Bowen and told the Principal Magistrate Sherdell Isaacs-Marcus that his client had no previous convictions and that the illicit substance was not found on his person.

Given that police prosecutor Adunni Inniss had no statements in the matter ready for court on Monday, the magistrate granted Bowen his release on $30,000 bail and adjourned the matter until August 19th.
