Charlestown man gets bail on ganja charge

A 23-year-old man charged with possession of narcotics was granted bail when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

James Murphy of Lot 17 Broad Street, Charlestown, appeared in the courtroom of Senior Magistrate Leron Daly and pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on August 14th at Broad and Lombard streets, he had in his possession 12 grammes of cannabis.

Murphy was granted bail in the sum of $30,000 and the matter was adjourned to August 30th.
