Titans Table Tennis club duo Jonathan Van Lange and Colin Wong captured Guyana’s second medal at the ongoing Caribbean Mini and Pre-cadet championships currently being played in the Dominican Republic.
The pair contested the boy’s 13 years and under doubles category and were eliminated at the semifinal stage to claim joint third place.
The Guyanese were stopped by Ramon Vila and Rafael Cabrera 7-11, 6-11, 11-9, 7-11. En-route to the semis, they accounted for Trinidadian pair Samuel Humphreys and Sachin Ramsumair 11-3, 11-4, 15-13 while downing Jamaicans Rasheed Clarke and Matthew Fung 11-5, 11-7, 11-7.
Meanwhile, Krystian Sahadeo and Dhanesh Persaud were eliminated at the quarter-final stage by Avram Santiago and Eliam Davila 3-0.
Ebo McNeil and Malachi Moore, who paired up to contest the boys 11 years and under doubles category were defeated in the first round by Enrique Rios and Steven Moreno 3-0 while Jasmine Billingy and Akira Watson suffered a similar fate.
