Burglars rob Crabwood Creek business owners

Burglars on Sunday invaded the home of a Crabwood Creek business owner and robbed him and his family of cash, jewellery, clothing and other items

According to information gathered, the family was asleep when the burglars entered the Grant 1780 Crabwood Creek house.

It is suspected that the burglars entered the house through a window located on the lower flat sometime around 11 pm on Sunday.

Shaliza Sookhai, the owner of ‘Happily Ever After’ explained, that her husband Afzal Hussain was asleep in the lower flat and her in-laws were asleep in the upper flat when the burglars launched their attack.

She said, that she operates her clothing and accessories business out of the house and that the burglars carted off a total of $600,000 in items from her business as well as separate  amounts of cash, jewellery and electronic items from her and her in laws.

The burglars also entered her husband’s car and stole several items.

While a report has since been filed at the Springlands Police Station the owners are pleading with the general public to be on the lookout for the items.

Sookhai said that if anyone has any information as to the location of the items then they can contact her on 335-0254, 609-0174 or the nearest police station.

Stabroek News was told last evening that the police have launched an investigation.
