Trinidad kidnapping witness found murdered; girlfriend shot

(Trinidad Guardian) A wit­ness in a kid­nap­ping case was gunned down and his girl­friend shot and wound­ed while at their home in Cau­ra on Sun­day night.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 10 am res­i­dents of Up­per Cau­ra Roy­al Road heard sev­er­al gun­shots and up­on check­ing they found Jah­way Adams, 35, and his girl­friend bleed­ing from mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds.

The gun­men, po­lice said, broke down the door to his home at Thomp­son Lane and opened fire on the cou­ple.

Adams, who is orig­i­nal­ly from Tu­na­puna, was shot five times to his chest and ab­domen, while his girl­friend was shot twice to the leg.

Adams died on the scene. His girl­friend up to press time was ward­ed in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex in Mount Hope.

In an un­re­lat­ed in­ci­dent, short­ly af­ter 4am on Mon­day, po­lice of­fi­cers act­ed on in­for­ma­tion re­ceived and went to the Fore­shore near the he­li­pad where they found an uniden­ti­fied man dead. He was shot sev­er­al times.

Po­lice said the body is that of African-de­scent, brown in com­plex­ion, ap­prox­i­mate­ly five feet eleven inch­es tall and about 160 pounds.

The man sport­ed a Rasta­far­i­an dread­locks hair style and it was clad in a pair of brown pants and a black jer­sey.
