(Trinidad Guardian) A witness in a kidnapping case was gunned down and his girlfriend shot and wounded while at their home in Caura on Sunday night.
According to a police report, at about 10 am residents of Upper Caura Royal Road heard several gunshots and upon checking they found Jahway Adams, 35, and his girlfriend bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.
The gunmen, police said, broke down the door to his home at Thompson Lane and opened fire on the couple.
Adams, who is originally from Tunapuna, was shot five times to his chest and abdomen, while his girlfriend was shot twice to the leg.
Adams died on the scene. His girlfriend up to press time was warded in a serious condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mount Hope.
In an unrelated incident, shortly after 4am on Monday, police officers acted on information received and went to the Foreshore near the helipad where they found an unidentified man dead. He was shot several times.
Police said the body is that of African-descent, brown in complexion, approximately five feet eleven inches tall and about 160 pounds.
The man sported a Rastafarian dreadlocks hair style and it was clad in a pair of brown pants and a black jersey.
