With the 592 ‘Street Kings’ Streetball tournament scheduled to commence September 7th at the Berlin Tarmac, the official fixtures was released yesterday by the tournament coordinator.
According to a release from the coordinator every match will be viewed as a final.
“A mixture of the best of the best in ‘Streetball’ and young, exciting up and coming teams, every match can be treated as a final. It will be a case of ‘win or go home’ as the tournament will be a straight knockout competition.”
Alexander Village will oppose newcomer LA Ballers in the event’s opening match from 19:30hrs while Back-Circle will lock horns with Ansa McAl at 20:00hrs and Melanie-B will tackle Future Stars from 20:30hrs.
In the fourth match, Broad Street engages North East La Penitence from 21:00hrs while Leopold Street will battle Tiger-Bay at 21:30hrs and Gold is Money takes aim at Avocado Ballers from 22:00hrs.
In the final two matches, Sparta Boss battles John Street from 22:30hrs and Albouystown-B face-off with Sophia at 23:00hrs. The aforementioned winners will progress to the quarterfinal round on September 14th at the Burnham Court, Middle and Carmichael Streets.
The three-day elimination tournament which will be played for over $675,000 in prizes, will conclude at the Durban Park Tarmac on September 21st. The final night will witness the semifinal round and the eventual finale.
Winner of the event will collect $300,000 and a trophy, while the runners-up will pocket $150,000. On the other hand, the third place finisher will grab $100,000 while fourth place side will receive $75,000.
Meanwhile the losing four quarterfinal teams will be eligible for the ‘592 Shield’ section. The winner of the ‘Plate’ section will collect $50,000.
