(Trinidad Express) A Laventille man is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today, charged with the murder of Angelina Samuel and wounding two men.

The alleged crimes happened on August 21.

John Nicholas , 56, a labourer of Upper Wharton Street, was charged with the offences on Monday.

 
Police say that Samuel, 36, a baker, also of Upper Wharton Street, Laventille, was at her home on August 21 in the company of two men, when all three got into an argument with a male neighbour.

During the altercation, the victim was stabbed in the abdomen with a knife by the man, while the two male victims were also injured.

One of the victims managed to hit the accused in the head with an object before he escaped. The victims were taken to hospital for treatment.

Samuel was pronounced dead. The accused also sought medical attention and discharged from hospital on September 6.

Investigations were supervised by W/ASP (Ag.) Suzette Martin, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 1, while Nicholas was charged by PC Ramsawak, also of HBI Region 1.
