Kadir Mohamed was an avid sports enthusiast who passed away 23 years ago. The Imam, who hailed from Bartica was present at most sporting events including the pedal sport whenever his schedule allowed.

It is for that reason that the Mohamed family for the past few years have collaborated with the Flying Stars Cycling Club to host the event in his honour.
