On Friday, a team from the Guyana Oil Company Limited (GUYOIL) headed by the Marketing and Sales Manager Jacqueline James travelled to Kato Village, Region 8 to distribute school supplies to the children of the village as part of their Hinterland Outreach.
A release from GUYOIL said that the team received support from the Guyana Defence Force in the form of air transport to Kato. The Toshao, Clifton Perreira and village councillor, Elizabeth Abrahams received the supplies that consisted mainly of school shoes for the children of the village.
The release said that the villagers expressed their appreciation to GUYOIL for the support and requested that similar projects be done in the future.
James noted that over the past few months GUYOIL has been involved in several activities to give back to Guyanese.
