The future of Guyana’s squash was on display last evening, exhibiting their quality in the open category of the 2019 ANSA McAL Trading Ltd sponsored Handicap Squash tournament at the Georgetown Squash Court.

Mohryan Baksh and Kirsten Gomes exemplified the pedigree and depth of Guyana’s squash during a competitive tussle, won by the former 2-0.

Both players played evenly throughout until Baksh pulled out a few smart plays to take the contest 15-13, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Deje Dias (-15) who is perhaps the tournament’s most seasoned campaigner, was also smooth on the second evening of the tournament during his come-from-behind 11-15, 15-11, 15-11 win over Regan Rodrigues (7).

Abosaide Cadogan, on the other hand, got past Johnathan Antczak (-2) 5- 15, 15-9, 15, 7 in her opening match of the tournament to land her name among the title contenders.
