A four-man army of local bodybuilders departed on Thursday for the Dominican Republic on a mission to secure gold medals at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships.

The 46th edition of the Region’s highest and most prestigious bodybuilding and fitness event gets underway today and ends tomorrow.

Some of Guyana’s premier musclemen, Kerwin Clarke, Emmerson Campbell, Yannick Grimes and Darius Ramsammy will be flying the Golden Arrowhead at the event.

Emmerson Campbell

Clarke a five-time Mr. Guyana and gold and bronze medalist (x2) at the event, is no stranger to the tanning machine and the bright lights. The 175-pound mass of striated muscle will be gunning for another gold medal and a potential pro card this year.

Campbell, a four-time Mr. Guyana (Men’s Physique) Champion, is also a seasoned campaigner. He will be competing at his fourth CAC Championships.

After missing out on the top podium spot by a single point last year in Mexico and in 2016 in the Dominican Republic, the man they call ‘Showtime’ feels the time is now to add gold to his international collection of hardware.

Grimes and Ramsammy will be making their debuts at the event.

All four have dialed in their physiques to
