A Best Village, West Coast Demerara (WCD) man is in a critical condition after he was shot by a passenger in a car that was passing as he walked on the Crane Public Road yesterday.
At around 2:30 yesterday morning, police said, Alanka Hompus, 27, of 644 Best Village, WCD was shot in the left side of his abdomen.
According to police information, the man was walking on the road in the company of others when a passenger in a passing car shot at him.
Hompus is said to be hospitalised in a critical condition.
Police are currently seeking to locate the car from which the shot was fired. Investigations are in progress.
