Bids sought for excavation of eight city outfalls

Bids are being invited for the excavation of eight outfalls in Georgetown.

In an advertisement in yesterday’s Kaieteur News, the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) of the Ministry of Agriculture listed the eight outfalls and the estimated cost of the work as follows:

Lot 1 – Cowan Street outfall – estimated cost $8.8m

Lot 2 – Church Street outfall – estimated cost $7.1m

Lot 3 – Commerce Street outfall – estimated cost $7.5m

Lot 4 – Princes Street – estimated cost $7.4m

Lot 5 – Sussex Street – estimated cost $9.1m

Lot 6 – La Penitence South – estimated cost $7.7m

Lot 7 – Ruimveldt North – $8m

Lot 8 – Ruimveldt South – $13.9m

The total estimated cost for all of the outfalls is $69.5m

Bid documents will be available from October 15th at the NDIA at LBI. Bids have to be submitted to the NDIA Tender Committee by 1.30 pm on November 5th. Bids will be opened on that same day and time.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 29th at the Ministry of Agriculture Head Office, Vlissengen Road and Regent Street at 9 am.
